New frame for the portrait of Antonio García Gutierrez copy of Sánchez Pescador's picture
The portrait of Antonio García Gutiérrez, which is found in the recently refurbished room of XIX century figures, copy of José Dodero of the original of José Sánchez Pescador's picture, already has a new frame, acquired by the Museo de Chiclana.
The frame, which is also from the XIX century, has an oval in thickness cardboard, which has been polychromed and decorated with reliefs, very similar to its original, and is part of the collection of portraits of Spanish authors which keeps the Teatro Español de Madrid.
The frame has been restored by the team of people hired under the youth employment plan, who have affix the gold for the frame, with a subsequent cleaning and a chromatic reintegration of the areas plastered and reconstructed with liquid gold.
Afterwards, the passe-partout has been pressed and reinforced, which has also suffered a reintegration before its final affix.
It should be noted that the room of illustrious figures of the XIX century is suffering a reorganization that would provide new pieces to the permanent exhibition of the Museo de Chiclana and it will also help the speech of this room.
